- All pages are now by default "registered users only". That is, you must login (anyone can create a Wiki Login at UserSettings) in order to edit pages or leave comments. This was a sad result of the overwhelming amount of spam content directed to our Wiki.

CALPER is now able to host a Wikifarm of this site. For questions on this, please contact the CALPER office.

To "right align" Hebrew and other Right-to-Left languages, enclose the text to be aligned in double @'s. See AboutWikis for more information.

8.19.2004 In what I hope to be the last "spam" update for a while, I've disabled the Refferer Lists (actually, I set their archived time to .0001). Attempts to set up a "Blacklist" and maintain it against the onslaught of spam was overwhelming. I've also restricted the Referrer Pages themselves to users who are logged in (although hopefully they will be blank, and of little interest). Loss of the Referrer lists is, I'm confident, not an issue with how our Wikis are being used. Still, it is sad to see a feature fall victim to such despicable practices.

Deletions:

Additions:

Wiki Updates
11.23.2004 Updated Wiki engine to the Wakka fork: UniWakka. Along with this general engine change, I've made some further changes to the code and settings.
- All pages are now by default "registered users only". That is, you must login (anyone can create a Wiki Login at UserSettings) in order to edit pages or leave comments. This was a sad result of the overwhelming amount of spam content directed to our Wiki.
- CALPER is now able to host a Wikifarm of this site. For questions on this, please contact the CALPER office.
- To "right align" Hebrew and other Right-to-Left languages, enclose the text to be aligned in double @'s. See AboutWikis for more information.
The UniWakka engine allows greatly increased multi-lingual support. While not fully Unicode, it is to date the best Wiki engine for multilingual development utilizing PHP and MySQL.
DealingWithSpam: A new page I've put together outlining steps taken in the code, user-management and things you can do backend to prevent and remove spam from your Wiki.
8.19.2004 In what I hope to be the last "spam" update for a while , I've disabled the Refferer Lists (actually, I set their archived time to .0001). 8.17.2004 More spam news. Several pages have been "re-opened", but require a User to register and Login with a WikiName before being allowed to edit the page. Registration is open, and Users can self-register with no delay. Pages requiring Login to Edit will be a note on the bottom of that page. Hopefully this will be a good middle ground, allowing any User to the site to make contributions while prohibiting robot spamming.
8.15.2004 Due to heavy spamming, several pages (mainly those associated with immediate content) have been locked down. This means these pages are no longer editable for users who have not registered a Wiki Name and contacted the CALPER office. I have chosen to leave many pages open, however, and will remain vigilant (as best as possible) against the digusting tactics of the spammers.
8.13.2004 Added a "Delete Comment" option for page owners. Page owners now have the ability to delete comments from their pages.
6.14.2004 Testing ability to render RTL (right-to-left) text on same document page as LTR (left-to-right) text. It looks like it is working, but am waiting on some final tests.
5.28.2004 Added ability to include images in the pages.
Forthcoming Modifications
Use CSS-3 to facilitate top-to-bottom text orientation.
Allow audio/video streaming through the Wiki.
Problems Currently Being Addressed
Problem: Unicode becomes "lost" when Previewing and Re-editing documents. Normal Edit-Store maintains Unicode.
